A confluence of brilliant minds

The S.N. Bose High Energy Physics discussion group was formed in 2013, to broaden exposure and share understanding of obscure scientific material usually not touched in a classroom syllabus. Through this site, we co-ordinate activity, schedule meetings, discuss presented topics and papers, hold votes and post individually written or collaborated note material.

The recent discovery of the Higgs Boson is a milestone in a glorious era of research in High Energy Physics. It also presents a new challenge: The boundary of scientific knowledge has been pushed farther from the beginner's reach than ever before. Only with the help of experienced veterans and supportive peers can the novice find their way to the cutting edge of research in time. Our areas of interest are:

Mathematical Physics

Gravitational Physics

Quantum Mechanics

Quantum Field Theory

We believe that any student who wishes to contribute meaningful research should:

Reach the cutting edge as quickly as possible

Thoroughly cover all preliminary material

Be aware of developments outside their chosen area of study

The necessity of simultaneously achieving these  goals presents a complicated challenge. We do not believe that more formal classes are the answer: a student might be better prepared to enlighten another, while some lessons are better discovered with guidance or inspiration than learnt through direct dictation. To this end, we hold weekly discussion meetings and any written notes will be made available on the literature page.
