The Local Student-ocracy

This page is where members make collective decisions on matters affecting the functioning and activity of the organization. Usually these decisions will be made by putting the matter to a vote between all available options. If a minority group on any subject proves to be significant, the vote may be cast again, depending on the co-ordinator.

Under the circumstances that an issue requires a unanimous vote for a decision to be finalised, members in disagreement with the majority may contact the co-ordinator. By doing so, they may request an alternate arrangement to be made, more convenient to all, for which a new vote may be cast. Otherwise, they can request seperate arrangements for themselves.

Those who choose to abstain from voting, will be assumed to be content with the outcome. Complaints afterwards will be ignored.

Concluded Votes

Which timing do you favour for meetings?

25/03/2014 12:29
Result:    The vote ended in 4 to 2 in favour of 18:00 - 19:30. However, since 33% is a significant minority, and the two start                   timings were only a half-hour apart, provision was made to accept delays to about 15 minutes.

Which day is preferable for meetings?

25/03/2014 12:25
Result:    The vote was 5 to 1 in favour of Wednesday over Monday. Seeing as about 83% is a super-majority, the meeting day was set to remain                 Wednesday. Those not in favor and those abstaining from the vote will abide by this.
